Hush my mouth!

As seems to be a trend in my life of late (with boring regularity, as it happens) my plans have been royally scuppered!

I am not going to Egypt in March now, and I am just a wee bit sick.

I have to be totally fair though, and say that H has to come home before I am booked to go there.

Her parents have both been ill and are older folks, and I think there are some other issues, but we'll talk about those when we meet up. I think she's lonely and a bit lost.

I'm a bit worried about her, and cannot actually call her and check that she is ok.

Buggeration!

I wouldn't have thought Egypt was a good place for English tourists in the current climate, actually...

What about Denmark?

What a sickener! I do hope you can get the trip rearranged, and I hope everything turns out O.K. for your friend.

I shouldn't worry too much Katey. Do what you can to contact her and we hope her parents are fine.

It's just another place and will not disappear so you shouldn't feel let down or pee'd off.

Plans are just that...plans, nothing set in stone and things are easily adapted; if you'd paid and were waiting at teh airport ...THEN it would be scuppered! Ha sno-one in Egypt got her contact number?

Ok, so here is the latest on this one...

I got a text from her, so now have a number I can call, which I did.

Of course, she is showing her usual stiff upper lip, and saying 'yes, yes, I'm fine, just need to get some things straight at home', and I believe her, to a point.

A couple of other things she said, make me feel that she could do with setting some roots down nearer to family and friends, and facing her new life. Time to stop runnng from the facts, so to speak.

Thank you all for your input and comments...I really am over the small loss on part in all this, and like all things of this nature, it simply was not meant to be. All good by me.

I have promised her that we will go to a day spa when she gets home, and then we can get to the nitty gritty of the matter!
